*The cover of the journal bears the crest of Faeryl Ravenwood; a large raven with outstretched wings holding a spear in it's talons.*
These lands are cold, hostile, and full of strange men more akin to dwarves than the men of the north. I have arrived here on Bifrost under the orders to try and secure trade rights with the natives, the Lifsons. They have found a vein of truesteel, a metal which would be a great boon to my people. Time will tell if such will be possible.
Since my arrival I have met few. I have kept to myself mostly, walking about the town merely trying to understand those I am now living with. There are other outlanders, though I have met but one. A swordsman named Thaine. A mercenary seeking a change of pace from Pherin, which I believe he will find here.
I had best be going. I feel that I have observed long enough, and I believe I will try to get to know some of the locals.

It seems I have gained a reputation as a skilled warrior. Two nights ago I was engaged in a brawl with a man descended from giants. Despite being three times my weight, we were engaged in battle for half of an hour before both of us conceded to quit. In doing so I seemed to have earned the man's respect. He is called Bjornson, and has since proven to be a staunch ally. Just last evening he felled a frost giant with a single blow by batting a rock at it...
Myself, a hin I do not know, and an Azurite wizard encountered a group of bugbear the same night, they had seemingly captured a giant. We were tasked by the Lifson's to report if there was indeed a giant and return, however we ended up engaging them. The battle was hard fought due to an injury I'd received from a broken sword shard, but we were victorious. Theodore was then able to remove the shard and patch up my wound.
