Major blast to the southeast, revealed to be new Kyrstinawic Weapon!
Late in the evening following another airship bombing on the city of New Pherin in Pherin a major explosion occured far to the southeast, in the northern Deadlands. To those in Pherin it occured as a bright flash of light that caused night to turn to day for roughly five long minutes and complete silence from all the wildllife - who have only now, the afternoon after, started sounding off again. As one moves closer to the source, many are still in a daze over the occurances, as Pherin only suffered a small fraction of the burst while those say in western Myrawood became temporary blind and deaf.
This attack from an unknown weapon of possibly Kyrstinawic origins, completely wiped out the Tower of Rosca in addition to most of Hakk u nro Ghahho’ (Fang of the Valley) and portions of the lower Mountains of Istra (or Istla) - only leaving a giant smoking crater. This area is now a dead zone, according to Veluan Instructor Ieman, who was called to help determine the scale of damage this attack did to Fenmyr as a neutral bystander. He claims this attack weaken the overall power of magic in Fenmyr, but not enough to be felt by most mages. Though even this news, whether good or bad, pales in comparison the massive loss of life suffered. It is estimated roughly twenty-thousand Roscans were slaughtered in this attack, almost instantly, while a large unknown number were destroyed from the aftershock and fires. Only somewhere in the number of two-hundred Roscan survived, several were seen dragging a giant stone slab with them.
According to sources high within the Pheric Government, there was a series of documents just given to the Lords' Council on a new weapon the Queendom had -just- acquired. While this is unconfirmed, it is believed the Council under the High Lord's permission sent the Seagull and Morning Star toward the site where the weapon was said to be tested. There has been no reports of either ship returning and the military is denying any word on whether or not those ships are still in existence.
The Queendom is denying all involvement with this, they claim would not attack the Roscans until they were formally declared war upon by them. They also deny anything about a "secret weapon" and in return have blamed Pherin for doing this in order to rally the other nations against the Queendom. Though there is also mention that the Queen herself may be losing political support from her people due to her stance that the war should be ended soon as possible.
The Azurites of the Crystal City, roughly half of the Lodestones of the Lodestone Gates, and the Sillilnyme Elves have entered a state of support to the nation of Pherin after this horrific attack on the Roscans. None of these nations have yet to declare war against the Kyrstinawic, but have cut off all diplomatic ties for the time being, which is among the first steps to war. Each nation sent experts to investigate and each came back claiming from the direction of the attack and various other elements, that the Queendom had to be the one to launch it. Meanwhile, the Shadowluren, the Wood Elves of Myrawood, the Western Plains City-States, and other smaller nations have kept to a neutral stance to the war.
We can only hope such an attack cannot be again repeated.
