Sweat Sea becomes The Sea of Falling Stars - Kyrstinawic has power to pull down the heavens!
Late in the evening of the twenty-ninth of Hammer in the year 1491, a great display of falling stars began to occur over the northern sea, the Sweet Sea. The falling stars could be seen with almost crystal clarity from as far south as the Shadowluren forest according to sources within the city of Arabell. Though seemingly this display of natural wonder was far from natural, it seems this was a display of Kyrstinawic power. Quickly this display became a weapon where it first destroyed a military installation, called Saints Grave, on the island of Igia in the Isles of Night island chain while the other islands were pelted by falling stars, it is unknown to the complete extent of the death toll.
Though the carnage that befell upon the Isles of Night quickly turned southwards across the remaining portion of the Sweet Sea, across the Kiran forest, the ruined city of Verzhul which seemed shielded by some force, until it began running down the northern road of New Pherin city. A man named Derek Blake, same one as involved in the Szragil incident, somehow sensed it was turning toward the city before it reached the outskirts and warned the city-guard, who promptly proceeded to escort and help citizens to safety. Just before the rain of fire hailing down upon the ground, were three winged beings attempting to outrace it to the outskirts of the city. These three beings, who turned out to be Wiylan, used a great display of magic to channel some sort of protective field around New Pherin while the heavens fell upon her. With each star hitting the protective field, a thunderous response could be heard and felt as the protective field shook and vibrated the ground. The pain they had to endure during this must have been tremendous, to the point most mortals would had given up instantly, but these Wiylan kept at it until they began to fall.
As if this merciless onslaught wasn’t enough for the attackers, Kyrstinawic airships began to appear to the southwest of the city, seemingly prepared for bombing and air-drop raids. As they began passing over a private compound, owned by a group calling themselves the “Red Dawn,” the residents who had been hiding due to the falling sky came out and boarded their airship, “The Red Foehammer,” and engaged the enemy. The odds were heavily against them as they battled the other ships, causing some to fall out of the sky or crash from balloon or engine damage – hope seemed to be fading as they realized they could not survive the attack Just when the Pheric Red Wings began to appear from the south. Their hope renewed, they continued the battle with the assistance of the Red Wings, managing to take down the remaining Kyrstinawic airships with minimum damage and few casualties. As the Red Wings left to search the various crash sites, the Red Dawn, had to deal with Weigris mercenaries that had managed to survive the crash of the one airship in their compound, according to reports they were promptly dealt with no further Pheric casualties.
Meanwhile, the Wiylan protective field began to weaken as one of the three fell from strain as this caused the vibrations from each hit to worsen to the degree of light earthquakes. Seeing this Derek Blake, who was present and watching the occurrences, offered his assistance by using some sort of magic to help strengthen the wall but it was not in time to save the second Wiylan who was struck by a star falling through the field. Despite the risks to his life, Derek Blake remained firm and continued to assist the remaining Wiylan – though it is unsure how he did it, Derek also seemingly stopped the falling stars before succumbing to his fatigue like the final Wiylan had. New Pherin was saved.
Derek Blake, the Red Dawn, the Red Wings, and the New Pheric city-guard are all to be praised for their heroic actions during this terrible attack upon New Pherin by the nation of Kyrstinaw. This new and fearful weapon they possess is of great destructive power and range to the point, Pherin must stop being on the defensive and begin to pierce the heart of the cause. Our prayers go out to our military and their families, especially of those who perished at Saints Grave upon the island of Igia in the Isles of Night.
“Remember the Saints Grave!” The voices of the surviving Seadrakes cry out as they now rush into battle along coast-lines.[/i]
