Natali is from a small village in Vaasa near the Great Glacier. There are about twenty families that live in this peaceful village. The men are hunters and warriors and the women are mothers and skilled crafters. Natali is the youngest of seven children and the only girl. The boys helped their father and became strong hunters, and she stayed at home learning to cook and craft goods to trade with the nearby villages. There was a dwarven village to the east of them and a small peaceful orc tribe that lived just to the west.
It was a warm spring morning when Natali was twelve; the men had just left for one of their routine hunting trips. The women of the village were out doing there morning chores when one of them noticed smoke rising from the west. It looked like it was near the orc tribe. They quickly went inside and boarded up the houses. It was not long when the ground began to shake and it sounded like a herd of cattle running through the town. It was a raiding war party of orcs. They tore through all the cabins, beating and raping all the women a few were even killed. It was the most horrible thing Natali had ever seen. None of the women were trained in combat so they had no way to defend themselves. The next day the men returned from their trip to find the village almost destroyed. The men gathered a large group to track the raiding party, and killed them. Some of the women took their own lives when they discovered they were with child from this. Others moved to another village to start over. From that day Natali swore that would never happen to her again. She started training with her brothers and in no time she mastered the scimitar.
When Natali was 17 a sickness fell upon the village taking her mother and father’s lives, along with several other villagers. This left Natali in the care of her brothers. All of them were married and had started families of their own. None of them wanted the hassle of watching her, she had a free spirited and a strong will. So they arranged a marriage for her with one of the warriors in their village. Jordon was strong and well liked. But he had a reputation with the ladies, and was not the idea of a proper spouse. The night before the wedding, Natali went to see Jordon, She found him engaged in sexual acts with the barmaid from the village tavern. She rushed home, grabbed her sword, shield and a few supplies and left her village. She knew this was not the life her parents would have wanted for her. So she made her way south down to Thar and across the Moonsea. She did not know where she was going nor did she care. Dealing with the pain of losing her parents and her brothers not wanting her was more than she could handle.
Natali traveled for close to four years and ended up on the eastern part of Faerun. She came across a port city with ships leaving for various destinations. She paid for a passageway to a land far away hoping for a new start.
