Lifsons went about their evening like any other. Drinking, laughing, occassionally fighting, followed by more drinking and laughing. The legion watched, grumpy and annoyed, but retaining their stoic demeanor. An ordinary night in Bifrost, and across Kvinne.
Lightning began to flash in the sky. A sight not all too unordinary, but one that has foreshadowed death enough times in the past to put the legion and Lifsons guard. The sky flashed, as electricity seemed to run through a single cloud. The people of Bifrost were placed on edge by the sight, which was only growing increasingly ominous.
A single bolt of lightning shot down from the heavens, slamming into the statue of Thunear, and hitting the hammer upon the altar. Those nearby scattered. Many took cover in the mead hall, while others ran to their homes, or wherever else they saw they could take cover. Lightning began to rain down on Bifrost. Patches of snow and ice were melted, revealing the dirt below.
The rain of lightning started its way moving south, towards Nifl. Lightning slammed the borders between Kvinne's north and south, causing a deep rumbling throughout all of Kvinne. Nifl's mountain ranges of ice could be seen even from Bifrost as they seemed to grow smaller. They were becoming more distant. Lightning smashed all along the border, until finally all of Nifl began to drift further south, having been seperated from Kvinne's north. A loud crash sounded from the mountains of Thorin's Hammer, along with the sound of many creatures dying.
Battle ensued along Thorin's Hammer. Elements began to swirl into elemental beings, and entered battle with each other. Tribes of creatures from Nifl rampaged along the mountains and nearby plains, having escaped Nifl before the divide.
Within hours of the split of Nifl and Kvinne, a small batallion of Silver Legionaries departed from Fort Julian, headed into the south, presumed to be investigating the situation.
But what all could see of Nifl, now across the sea from Kvinne, was most terrible of all. The sky was dark and twisting, the sounds of battle echod even in the north. The rumbling of the sea, storms, and battle could be felt. Even days later, the terrible look of Nifl remained. For this was no passing condition, this was the new face of Nifl.
