Single-Action Turn Based Combat
New TB system I'm developing 'cause I like it.
The TB begins like any other. Characters all roll dexterity to determine order, going from highest to lowest. In the event of a tie, a tie breaking d20 is rolled.
Each character is allowed only 1 action per turn, though combination attacks (such as a punch and a kick, or slashing with two blades) are allowed, though the failure of one attack may be detrimental to the next.
Between each of a character's turns, they are allowed two side actions. These can be taken at any time, and include the drinking of a potion, activation of an item, casting of a non-offensive spell, and other non-hostile actions. No hostile action may be done as a side action.
Haste spells, potions, and abilities do not grant additional actions. Instead, the character is granted a +3 until one round goes by to their strength (due to momentum) and dexterity (due to speed) rolls. The +3 extends to reflex, and parry checks as well.
A round's length is from the current action in play until the very same character is taking an action again.
