G'Oroes are a subrace of the Ogre species that lives in portions of the northern Shadowluren Forest, between Aquias Lake and Zechialim but their hunting range extends northwards into the lower Deadlands. The species have existed since well before the Ark of Quain incident in 0 DR and seem to have suffered little alteration due to the energies released that day, but it seems due to this lack of change that the G'Oroes are now slowly fading away from the face of Fenmyr. Their reproduction rate is slow, one young every ten years is what has been recorded, and they were hunted by the Weigris for various reasons so this makes for a steady decline in population over the last fifteen hundred years. There is estimated only five hundred left in Fenmyr, with at least a third of which are beyond the years of reproduction and as result it is thought the species will be extinct by 1510 DR.
The name G'Oro is from the Weigris language it means roughly, "Gray-Hide Giant". It is also known as the Silver-Ogre in Common Jaian, Siun in Shadowluren, and the Ogian in Deadland-Jaian.
The average adult G'Oro is between ten and twelve feet tall and on average four feet wide while weighing between one and two tons. They stand on two legs much like a Humanoid though due to its overdeveloped muscle mass across its shoulders and base of the neck, a hump exists and causes it to hunch over to a small degree. They are heavily muscular across their bodies, though their legs stand out the most, they are as if tree-trunks in size. The hide of an adult G'Oro is a grayish coloration with tints of blue. Their eyesight is fairly developed though it not as good as an average Human but their sense of hearing and smell are greatly superior to even the Wood Elves'. And they can live upwards of two-hundred years in the wild, though on average it seems closer to one-hundred years.
G'Oro young appear like smaller verisons of the adults, standing about five to six feet tall and roughly two or three feet wide. They weigh between five hundred pounds to a ton. Their hide is more blue in coloration than the adult hides. It takes a young twenty years to reach adult-hood.
Their diets is that of an omnivore both meat and plantlife, they do have to eat a fairly large amount of meat daily to maintain their muscles but they can survive on plantlife for a period of time if need-be. They can safely digest the various poisonous creatures found in the lower Deadlands and northern Shadowluren Forest, one of their favorite meals is that of a venomous sand-shark called a Mo'go'o. They are one of the few creatures that are a threat to a full grown Swordeater, though the G'Oro prefers safer meals if possible.
They cannot speak. But do understand Common, Jaian, and Draconic.
